Are you looking for opportunities to earn college credit?
Le Moyne Summer Scholar Program
The Le Moyne College Summer Scholar Program offers current high school students completing their sophomore or junior year the opportunity to take up to two college courses prior to graduation. Qualified candidates must have a minimum high school grade point average of 87 and a PSAT or SAT score of at least 1000, or ACT score of 22. Colgate Community Student Program
Colgate University's Community Student Program provides an opportunity for qualified juniors and seniors from area high schools to enroll in one Colgate course per term, on a space-available basis. High School Students may register for fall term classes beginning in August (Thursday, August 14 - Monday, September 8, 2014) and for spring term classes, beginning in January (Monday, January 5 - Wednesday, January 28, 2015). Students participating in the program must pay a non-refundable $300 administrative fee at the Contoller's Office at Colgate University.  Click here to see the Community Student Program information packet for specific application procedures.

2/1/13 Deadline: National Peace Essay Contest
Are world peace and the growth of freedom and justice important to you? If so, you may be interested in entering the National Peace Essay Contest. Each winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship and an invitation to Washington, D.C. for an all-expense paid, five-day seminar.
2/15/2013 Deadline: Best Buy Scholarship Program
This scholarship is open to students who demonstrate good grades, commitment to community service and/or work experience. Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to apply.

Scholarship available for students that reside in Central New York and are pursuing a science or environmental-related degree. Click above link for additional scholarship requirements.
2/1 Deadline: Firemen's Association of the State of New York Higher Education Learning Plan (FASNY HELP) 
This program will provide tuition reimbursement to student-volunteers allowing them to attain up to eighty credit hours from their closest New York State chartered community college or one located within 50 miles of their primary residence. There is no restriction on the type of academic course(s) the FASNY HELP student-volunteer can pursue.

2/27/15 Deadline: Buick Achievers Scholarship Program
Scholarships are available for students who plan to major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in the automotive industry. Those who plan to enroll full time at a 4 year college or university fort the 2015-16 school year are encouraged to apply. Click on the link to apply.
2/28/2014 Deadline: American Society of Military Comptrollers Scholarship - Click here for application
American Society of Military Comptrollers-CNY Leatherstocking Chapter, is sponsoring a scholarship program. The ASMC Scholarships are for students entering the fields of Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Operations Research (relating to Financial Management) and/or Computer Science.
Scholarship Requirements:

2/29/2012 Deadline-The Anne Sullivan Macy Society Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the Anne Sullivan Macy Society Scholarship Fund is to recognize and support outstanding legally blind or medically qualified visually impaired students accepted or enrolled in an accredited two-year or four year college, university, or graduate program.

3/1/14 Deadline: Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York "Ned Carter" Scholarship - Click here for application
The Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York is pleased to announce our "Ned Carter" Scholarship availability to of four $1,500.00 scholarships to NYS high school seniors who will be graduating in June. The student MUST be related to or be a Firefighter in an affiliated member organization of the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York and must reside in NYS.

3/31/13 Deadline: eCampusTours $1,000 Scholarship Giveaway 
By filling out an online registration form or sending your information via mail, you can enter into the Scholarship Giveaway from eCampusTours.com. Two winners are selected in a random drawing, and each will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
3/31/2015 Deadline: CSEA Madison County Local 827 Scholarships
CSEA Local #827 will be awarding a $1000 schlarship and a $500 scholarship to two qualifying high school seniors graduating in the class of 2013. In order to be eligible, the senior must be a child/stepchild of a Local #827 member in good standing.

4/1/2012 Deadline: The Firemens Association of New York Gerard J. Buckenmeyer Volunteer Scholarship 
The Firemens Association of New York will be awarding ten $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors entering college. The applicant must be actively participating as a volunteer firefighter or junior firefighter including BSA Explorer posts, Venturing Crews and RAMS; or be participating with a volunteer EMS program. 4/1/2014 Deadline: Oneida Area Civic Chorale Scholarship
The Oneida Area Civic Chorale is offering a $500 scholarship to an area high school senior who has displayed musical talent in school and community performances and plans to engage in musical study beyond high school as a music major or in extracurricular areas.
4/13/13 Deadline: American Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarship Program
To be eligible for this scholarship, just read an essay about fire sprinklers and take an "open-book" multiple choice test. Each question that you answer correctly will enter you into a drawing for one of ten $2,000 scholarships. If you answer all ten questions correctly, then you will have ten chances to win. 4/15/14 : CPCU Society Scholarship - Click here for application
The Syracuse Chapter of the CPCU Society, a membership organization of over 25,000 professionals in the property/casualty insurance industry, is now accepting scholarship applications. The scholarship is for high school seniors who are planning to go to college to pursue a risk management or insurance degree.
4/16/2012 Deadline: VISINE Students with Vision Scholarship Program
The first annual VISINE® STUDENTS WITH VISION Scholarship Program
is offering one-time $5,000 scholarships to students who have demonstrated a clear vision or goal for their future. High school seniors and current college students with a minimum GPA of 2.8 may submit an online application beginning February 15, 2012. The deadline to apply is April 16, 2012.
Scholarship Program recipients are selected based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, financial need and demonstrated vision or goal.

4/17/2015 Deadline: Core Federal Credit Union Walter Bazydlo Memorial Scholarship Award
Any graduating high school senior, or full time college student at an accredited. degree granting institution, who is a student member of the CORE Federal Credit Union can apply for this award. Scholarships will be granted based on financial need and the academic performance of the applicant. Must be postmarked no later than April 6, 2012.
4/24 Deadline: NY State Association for Superintendents of School Buildings and Grounds Central Chapter Scholarship
It is the intent of the Central Chapter of the NY Association of Superintendents of School Buildings and Grounds to provide a scholarship to a student pursuing a degree in the fields of facility management, engineering, architecture, energy management, maintenance or construction. The amount of the scholarship award will be $500 payable to an applicant as selected by the Scholarship Committee.
4/26/13 Deadline: Andrew D. Rossetti Scholarship Award
Andrew D. Rossetti Scholarship Award is available to high school seniors from Madison-Oneida Component districts that plan a career in teaching. Additional applications are available in the Counseling Center.
4/30/12 Deadline: Epilepsy Foundation Stephen A. Segar Scholarship
The Stephen A. Segar Scholarship program at the Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester-Syracuse-Binghamton offers three $1500 scholarships to high school seniors planning on furthering their education and current college students with epilepsy. Please call the Epilepsy Foundation at (800)724-7930 for more information or visit www.epilepsy-uny.org to download the application forms.

5/1/12 Deadline: Central NY DDSO Scholarship
Criteria for this scholarship includes: 1. Recipient must have parent/guardian that is an employee of The Central New York Developmental Services Office Eastern Region comprising of Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, and Oneida Counties. 2. Essay is required showing need, commitment to attain higher education in the health or human services field, plan of study and career goals. 3. Applicant must be a 2012 high school graduate. 4. Transcript must be submitted with the application.
5/15 Deadline: Evans Scholarship - Click here for application
The scholarship is available to bonafide, full-time residents of the Town of Smithfield who will graduate from high school in June and will enter an institution of higher education as a full-time student this coming fall. The scholarship is for two semesters each year for a maximum of four academic years. Students must provide certification of full-time enrollment each semester. *Please note that an essay is required. The literature needed to write the essay is available in the Counseling Center.*
5/15 Deadline: Morrisville-Eaton Faculty Association Award - Click here for application 
Each year a $600 award is given by the M.E.C.S. Faculty Association. The purpose of this award is to aid a senior in pursuing a college education. The selection, by a faculty committee, is based on such factors as: demonstrated excellence in academics, character, leadership, financial need, and a commitment to a post-secondary degree. The student selected will receive $300 at the beginning of each semester of the first year of college study. The second semester grant is contingent upon the student receiving at least a 2.0 (C) average in the first semester of college study. Proof of registration and attainment of the 2.0 average will be required. 
Deadline: Completed applications must be returned to the Counseling Center by May 15.
5/15 Deadline: Morrisville-Eaton PTO Scholarship - Click here for Application
Criteria:
must be a graduating senior
must be entering the field of education
must be accepted to and entering college in the fall immediately following graduation
must include a 250 word essay using the provided question
The application and accompanying essay are due to the High School Counseling Center no later than May 1, 2012 for consideration of scholarship.
5/15 Deadline: Morrisville Lions Club - Click here for application
The Morrisville Lions Club has established an award for graduates of Morrisville-Eaton Central School to attend any college or university. The award is in the amount of $1000.00 and is payable in two installments of $500.00 each. Payment will be made after registration, at the beginning of the first and third semesters. The student selected will be given specific instruction on the method of payment.
The Morrisville Lions Club, an affiliate of the International Lions Club, is a non-profit organization dedicated first and foremost to the preservation of sight and hearing. In addition to our work in these areas, the Morrisville Club contributes time and money to many community based programs. This award is established to honor a student having best exemplified the ideals of Lionism.
If you have been accepted and are planning on attending any college or university, you are eligible to apply for this award. Preference will be based primarily on the community involvement section on page two of the application. Letters of recommendation will be accepted in addition to the information you supply as long as they do not come from a relative and are mailed directly to the Morrisville Lions Club.

5/15 Deadline: Oneida Healthcare Foundation Award - Click here for application 
The Oneida Healthcare Foundation is offering a $250.00 annual award to be given to a graduating Senior, accepted into a two or more year undergraduate nursing or accredited Allied Health program. The foundation recognizes the increasing need for health care professionals, especially nurses, in our community. This award is offered to students at Camden, Canastota, Chittenango, Madison, Morrisville-Eaton, Oneida, Stockbridge and VVS. 
Deadline: Completed Applications must be returned to the Counseling Center by June 1 to be considered for this award. 
5/15 Deadline: The Grove W. and Agnes M. Hinman Charitable Foundation Scholarship - Click here for application
This scholarship is available to students who will successfully complete diploma requirements at Hamilton, Madison, or Morrisville-Eaton Central School in June and will enter an institution of higher education as a full-time student next fall. Hinman Scholarships are available for two semesters during each academic year, for a total of four academic years, upon certification of full-time enrollment each semester.

5/15 Deadline: The Morrisville Regional Youth Commission Scholarship - Click here for application
The Youth Commission is offering a $300.00 annual scholarship to be awarded to an eligible graduating Senior who has been involved in community service throughout his/her high school career. This student should have been instrumental in helping their peers and the younger members of their community pursue academics, athletics, arts and community awareness. This student should be respected by his/her peers and pursuing higher education in the fall.

New York State Education 2016 Series Scholarship for Academic Excellence
Pending the appropriation of State funds during the 2016 session of the NYS Legislature, 8,000Scholarships for Academic Excellence will be awarded to the top high school students graduating from NYS high schools in 2016. Morrisville-Eaton uses class ranking as the criteria used in the selection process.

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student.
